In just 4 days, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kicks off! This is their BIGGEST sale of the year and the one everyone buzzes about the most. Today I’m here to answer some questions and share a few tips and tricks to help you shop the sale like a pro. Keep reading to find the best ways to prep for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
If you’re not familiar with it, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, or NSALE for short, is when Nordstrom rolls out brand-new fall merchandise at deeply discounted prices. And we’re not just talking any old generic brands— these are brands we all know & love. Think Veronica Beard, Nuna, Free People, Nike, & more… I especially love their baby gear deals, you can get some serious discounts on some of the more expensive items! The deals are always fantastic, with some items slashed by several hundred dollars.
What’s the Big Deal?
Ha ha ha.. see what I did there? As you can see, the NSALE IS a big deal! Unlike typical sales where items begin at full price and are later discounted, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale operates a little differently. Brand new products are released at sale prices for a limited time, and then the prices increase in August. These exclusive deals on brand-name items won’t be available again for the rest of fall and winter, so shoppers usually take advantage of the savings now and use the items later. (As a Florida girl myself, there’s no way I can wear a Duster Cardigan in the middle of July without seriously risking heat stroke 😅). It’s definitely a nice way of stocking up for the cooler months and upcoming travel, though!
When Can I Shop?
The sale kicks off online at 12:01 AM ET on the first day you’re eligible to shop. If you’re a Nordy Club member and Nordstrom Cardmember, you can start shopping the sale as early as July 9th (Icon level) during the Cardmember Early Access period. All Nordstrom cardholders can begin shopping on July 11th, and the sale opens to everyone on July 15th and runs through August 4th. The sooner you can shop, the better, as items tend to sell out quickly! If you want early access, you can apply for a Nordstrom Card here. Remember, all prices will revert to their original amounts on August 5th. If you shop in store, normal store hours apply.
What Nordy Club Status am I?
To find out what your Nordy Club Status is, go to the Nordstrom homepage and sign-in, then click Your Account, then click The Nordy Club Rewards. You can find out your account status level now and mark your shopping dates on your calendar. Keep in mind that in order to access the sale early, you’ll need to be a Nordstrom Cardmember.
What Are the Benefits of the Nordstrom Credit Card?
If you’re an avid Nordstrom shopper, I highly recommend applying for the Nordstrom Credit Card. You will earn points for every purchase made (at Nordstrom) and redeem them for Notes which are essentially cash bonuses for future purchases. They currently offer two different cards, one can be used anywhere VISA is accepted while the other is strictly for Nordstrom purchases. Straight from Nordstrom’s website, here are the benefits of the two cards (with the differences at the bottom of the page):

Can I See A Preview of the Sale Before it Goes Live?
Yes, Nordstrom always allows everyone to preview the sale in advance. In fact, the previews are already available! Check it out now!
What’s the best strategy to shop the NSALE?
My biggest piece of advice would be to create a Wish List. Browse your favorite categories on the site and add all of your favorite items to your Wish List. Then when it’s your day to shop, you can go to your Wish List page and easily add all of those items to your cart from there. Another tip: download the Nordstrom app on your phone. If something on your Wish List goes out of stock, it will notify you if and when it restocks. This is such a lifesaver for those high-demand items that sell out quickly—Nordstrom does random restocks during the sale, and you’ll be the first to know! Just be sure to allow notifications from the app when you download it.
Which items usually sell out quickly?
There are certain items that go fast. I know these New Balance Shoes and Mia Chelsea Lug Booties will likely sell out quickly. Free People sweaters are always in high demand, and if you’re having a baby, you’ll want to snag some of the larger baby gear pieces. What happens if I order something and it doesn’t fit?
One of the best things about Nordstrom is their customer service. They typically accept returns no questions asked. If you order something online and it doesn’t fit, you can return it for free. You can submit a return easily online or return it in-store if that’s your preference.
